Atlanta to the Triangle, the right way

From metro Georgia to the Carolina Triangle

Atlanta to the Research Triangle is one of the busier job-relocation routes in the Southeast, and it's one we run all year. Moving for work or a fresh start, you want a mover who actually drives this road, not a broker who sells your job to the cheapest truck that week. We load you in Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, or Athens and bring it straight to Cary, Raleigh, or Durham.

Your furniture gets wrapped and padded, your boxes get loaded with care, and you get one crew and one point of contact the entire way up I-85.

How this route works

The move-day details on a Georgia pickup

A long-distance move lives and dies on the details at each end. Here's what we line up at the Georgia end before the truck rolls north.

Atlanta traffic and timing windows

Metro Atlanta runs on timing. We plan the load around rush hour and any building move-in window so the crew isn't stuck in gridlock or waiting on a dock. The earlier we lock the date, the better the slot.

Midtown and Buckhead high-rises

High-rise condos in Midtown, Buckhead, and the metro need the service elevator or loading dock reserved for a window. We confirm your elevator time and the shortest carry before move day so we're not waiting on one elevator all afternoon.

Building certificates of insurance

Plenty of Atlanta condo and office buildings require a certificate of insurance naming the building before movers come up. Tell us the building and we send the COI ahead, so nothing stalls at the dock.

Corporate and relocation timelines

A lot of Georgia-to-Triangle moves are job relocations on a tight calendar. We work to your start date, coordinate a clear delivery window, and keep one point of contact so HR or your closing never gets a surprise.

One crew up I-85 to the Triangle

A quick virtual or in-home walkthrough and a written estimate, then our crew loads you in Georgia and drives it up I-85 to your door in Cary, Raleigh, or Durham. No re-loading, no hand-off, no broker.

Broker vs Royalty

Broker or real mover? On a relocation it matters most

On a job move with a hard start date, a broker hand-off is where things go wrong. Here's what booking Royalty directly looks like instead.

Typical broker

Royalty Moving Systems

Sells your job to another mover
Handles your move directly
A random crew may show up
The same Royalty crew, one point of contact
Vague hand-offs mid-trip
One door-to-door plan, start to finish
Price can change on move day
A written estimate after we see your inventory
Hard to know who has your stuff
One company, accountable the whole way
How your free estimate works

A walkthrough first, then a real written estimate

No instant gimmick number that changes on move day. Tell us the basics, choose a quick video call or in-home visit, and we put the number in writing.

1

Tell us about your move

Start with the quote form: date, origin, destination, home size, access details, and the main items you are moving.

2

Choose video or in-home walkthrough

We do a quick walkthrough your way: a short video call or an in-home visit, so we can see exactly what is moving before we write the estimate.

3

Get a real written estimate

The price you are quoted is the price you plan around. No vague phone number that changes after the truck is loaded.

Local movesPriced on crew and time

A move inside the Triangle is billed by how big the crew is and how long the job takes, plus a small travel fee. Home size, how much you are moving, and access (stairs, elevators, long carries) are what move the number. We give you an honest estimate up front so there is no surprise at the end.

Long-distance movesPriced on volume and distance

A corridor move is priced on how much you are moving and how far it is going, not by the hour. Packing level, stairs or elevators on either end, specialty items, and your dates factor in. You get a real written estimate after a quick walkthrough, so the number you are quoted is the number you plan around.

The written estimate is the real number. For interstate moves the law requires a written estimate after a survey, and we follow it. We do a quick virtual or in-home walkthrough, see what is actually moving, and put the number in writing. No vague phone quote that jumps on move day.

Ask about our bobtail rate too. If our truck is already heading up from Georgia, we can sometimes give you a better price to help fill the trip. Just mention it when you get your quote.

How it works

Your Georgia-to-NC move in three steps

1

Get your free quote

Tell us where you're going, when, and roughly how much you're moving. We will come back with a clear written estimate. No broker games.

2
Lock in your day

Pick the day that works, then we confirm your crew, truck, and plan so you know exactly who is coming and what is included.

3

Moving day

Our crew wraps, pads, loads, and delivers, the same people start to finish. You relax while we handle the move with care.

What affects your price

We won't fake a price, but here's what drives it

A Georgia-to-NC move is priced on how much you're moving and how far it's going, not by the hour like a local job.

How much you're moving

Your shipment size is the biggest driver. A Midtown one-bedroom costs far less than a full suburban house.

Distance & route

Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, and Athens are all different distances to the Triangle. Your start and end points factor in.

Packing level

Pack yourself, or let us do all or part of it. Full packing costs more but saves you the hardest part of a relocation.

Access & stairs

High-rise elevators, loading docks, long carries, and tight metro streets can affect crew size and time at the Georgia end.

Specialty items

Pianos, safes, gym equipment, or fragile heirlooms need extra care and sometimes special handling.

Timing & flexibility

Summer and month-end are busiest. Flexible dates can mean a better rate and more options.

We give you a real written estimate after we see your inventory by photos or a quick video walkthrough. No vague phone number that changes on moving day.

Alex had helped move me and my family from NYC down to South FL and it was the most seamless and best move I've had. Moving gets stressful but Alex and his team definitely know what they are doing and it was priced very competitively but the service was impeccable. I'd definitely use Royalty again!

Good questions

Georgia to North Carolina, answered

We run the whole state up the corridor — metro Atlanta (Midtown, Buckhead, Marietta, Alpharetta), plus Savannah, Augusta, and Athens. Tell us your pickup city and your NC destination and we'll plan the route up I-85.

Yes, regularly. High-rises in Midtown and Buckhead need the service elevator or loading dock reserved and often a certificate of insurance on file. Give us the building when you book and we arrange the elevator window and send the COI ahead of move day.

That's a big part of what we move. We plan the load and a clear delivery window around your job start or closing date, and you get one point of contact the whole way, so nothing slips between Atlanta and the Triangle.

It's a mid-length corridor run up I-85. We give you a delivery window with your written estimate and keep you updated, so you always know where your things are. No vague promises we can't keep.

Never. We're a real, licensed and insured carrier with our own trucks and crew. The team that loads you in Georgia is the team that unloads you in North Carolina. We don't sell your move to a broker.
